finds us in a comfy hotel room on the outskirts of chicago.
it's been an interesting couple of days; we stayed at my uncle's (mother's 3rd-oldest brother, out of 5) house near cleveland, which has been pretty relaxing and fun. i was able to see some cousins for the first time in over ten years as well as meet their spouses and children for the first time, too.
this morning we had breakfast with cousin nolan's (we're facebook friends now) wife mimi and their adorable kids, and then drove 6.5 hours to get to chicago. since the art institute was closing by the time we made our way over there, we originally planned to come back in the morning... but traffic in the city has so thoroughly kicked my ass that i'm reconsidering. pathetic, i know, but i'm hoping i'll get more chances to later this summer.. with someone else driving. ha

tomorrow: wisconsin, and one day closer to the rest of my summer at quad.
